The Government introduced incentives, in the form of grants, for First Home Owners in July 2000. Since then there have been numerous additions and variations to the Grant Schemes.
Your eligibility for the various grants depends on numerous factors. These include whether you or your partner have owned a property previously, the location of the property you intend to purchase, state and region, the intended use of the property and whether the property is newly built or established.
Some grants are nationally based like the “First Home Owner Boost” and others may be specific to the state you live in such as the “Duty Concession” in Victoria. It is best to contact the administrator of the grants in your state to understand what grants are available and whether your are eligible or not.
